When you’re planning a fishing trip to the Kenai Peninsula, Tanner’s is here to help. We offer custom sport fish processing at our shop in Ninilchik, and Soldotna Alaska between the cities of Kenai and Homer, and less than one mile from the famous Cook Inlet, Deep Creek boat launch, where hundreds of Halibut Charters launch daily.

We take pride in all of our work, and when it comes to your special catch we treat it like it's our own. All fish brought in for processing is in the freezer the same day. We offer special boxing services for all airlines and can meet any special needs you may have for your fish. We also offer convenient overnight shipping, options via FedEx and UPS and partner with the best professional Kenai Peninsula fishing guides.

If Space is Available, you must provide a box or purchase one to store your fish.
Storage is $10.00 per box or cooler/per day, up to 50#,  Coolers 29” or longer will be 15.00 per day.

If fish has not been picked up after 24 hours you will be charged for freezing and storage.

There will be an additional $1.00 per bag charge for packaging requests that are less than 1lb

WHAT IS FRESH FISH PROCESSING?

Fresh Fish Processing is a method by which the fish you catch in Alaska is cut to your specifications, vacuum packed and flash frozen. All fish is processed the same day it is dropped off and ready to be picked up or shipped the next day.


WHAT IS FLASH FREEZING?

Flash freezing (or blast freezing) refers to the process where food items are quickly frozen by subjecting them to extreme freezing temperatures. Flash freezing is used to quickly freeze perishable food items. Food items are subjected to temperatures well below water’s freezing point, allowing the water inside the foods to freeze very quickly without forming large crystals, thereby avoiding damage to the food item itself.


HOW DO I GET MY FISH HOME?

Tanner’s offers next day shipping options via FedEx and UPS.  We also sell styrofoam lined cardboard boxes that weigh 3lbs. These boxes serve as lightweight coolers for your fish to travel in whether it is being shipped or if you are traveling on the airlines with it. These boxes are accepted on all major airlines.


CAN I USE DRY ICE?

While dry ice is not necessary after it comes out of the blast freezer, It is possible to put in your boxes, Please check with your airline while making travel plans to find out if you can have dry ice packed with your fish to fly with.


DO YOU SELL FISH?

Tanner’s sells fresh frozen halibut, King salmon, Sockeye salmon, Silver salmon, King Crab, Tanner Crab, Spotted Shrimp, Black Rockfish, Ling Cod, Yellow Eye, Smoked Salmon, and more. All fish is hand picked fresh from Alaskan fisherman.
