Alaskan spot shrimp prepared for holiday dinner party.
Has an upcoming family gathering got you searching for a few Alaskan seafood appetizer ideas? Why not simplify things and serve nutritious, Alaskan spot shrimp with a series of dipping sauces? You could place the Alaskan spot shrimp next to the dipping sauces or serve them together ala cocktail style. The choice is yours. Either way, here’s a look at several dipping sauces that would pair well with fresh Alaskan seafood:

Alaskan Spot Shrimp with Red Pepper & Capers

A red pepper and capers dipping sauce would work wonderfully with poached, sautéed or deep-fried Alaskan spot shrimp. It is made by pureeing 1 cup of garlic mayonnaise, 1/8 teaspoon of cayenne pepper and 2 roasted red peppers together. The roasted red peppers should be peeled and seeded. Once that task is complete, simply add 1 teaspoon of capers into the mix right before serving it.

Alaskan Spot Shrimp with Cucumber Dill

If red peppers and capers don’t whet your appetite, consider making a batch of cucumber dill dipping sauce. It tends to go well with sautéed or poached Alaskan spot shrimp. To make some, you’ll need to combine 1 cup of sour cream with seasonings, cucumbers, onion and white vinegar. We’d recommend using ¼ cup of chopped parsley, 1 tablespoon of chopped dill, ¼ cup chopped onions, 1 tablespoon of vinegar and 1 large cucumber. In order to avoid creating a dip with lumpy texture, the cucumber should be peeled, seeded and minced.

Alaskan Spot Shrimp with Tarragon Mustard

A lovely seafood dip made with tarragon mustard would also complement the delicious taste of deep-fried, poached or sautéed Alaskan spot shrimp. It is also one seafood dip that is incredibly easy and quick to make. You’ll need ½ cup of mayonnaise, 3 tablespoons of spicy Dijon mustard, 1 tablespoon of red wine vinegar, 1 teaspoon of chopped tarragon and ½ cup of sour cream. Just mix the ingredients together. Then add as much white pepper and sea salt to the seafood dip as you see fit before placing it onto the table.
